Ties that Bind: Stories of Resilience, Community, and Change
- Details
- By the Storytelling Project Team
On this Mother's Day 2026, we are delighted to share with you a special gift: a new publication titled “Ties that Bind: Weaving Stories of Resilience, Community, and Change.”
A joint ICUUW-UNOSZ project, this initiative is an outgrowth of the 4th International Convocation of U*U Women and People of Progressive Faiths, Kolozsvár/Cluj, Romania, September 2024. Following the event, we launched an appeal for contributions to a publication carrying forward the spirit of the Convocation – and our shared commitment to a better world. Convocation participants were invited to submit writings honoring the theme of the event, "Weaving a Tapestry of Peace and New Perspectives:" personal stories or those of female ancestors that inspire and transform, contributing to a rich U/U tapestry, creating peace, equity, respect, and dignity in the world.
Our “tapestry” of stories contains 15 writings woven from colorful strands of love, shaped by unique experiences, life events, and emotions . Each story is first in English, then in the contributor's native language (if other than English or Hungarian), and in Hungarian translation. It also includes special illustrations of the textiles that participants were asked to bring to the 4th Convocation.
On this Mother's Day, may you and your loved ones cherish this special gift of hope, inspiration, and resilience. In today's divided world, may it inspire and guide us as we continue to work together for peace, equity, and justice.
In sisterhood and community,
