Join us on June 15 at 10 am EDT for our Annual Gathering, where we will create a space to connect our members and supporters in a dialogue to explore pathways to gender equality!
Years, even generations’ worth of progress on women’s empowerment could be lost to the pandemic. We will unpack some of the inequalities that the pandemic has exposed and exacerbated while giving you the opportunity to voice your ideas, questions, and concerns. A short presentation on Advocacy at the UN: Engagement with Global Women’s Rights will be followed by conversations in facilitated focus groups. When you register, you will be asked to select which focus group you wish to participate in:
-
Women and Climate Change (Presenters: Erin Beasley, executive director of Ecosystem Restoration Camps USA; Carmen Capriles, founder of Reacción Climática, Bolivia)
-
Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights for Young Women (Presenters: Justyna Borusinska, Unitarian leader, Poland; Noel Lutomia, project coordinator, Acacia in Kenya)
-
Women, Children, Immigration Justice (Presenter: Katia Hansen, President & CEO, UU Refugee and Immigrant Services and Education, USA - UURISE)
-
Domestic Violence, the “Shadow Pandemic” (Presenters: Gizella Nagy, Unitarian leader, Transylvania; Elgiva Shullai, White Ribbon Campaign Coordinator for the Women's Wing of North East India Unitarian Union)
The Annual Gathering will be held online via Zoom at 10 am EDT. It will be followed by ICUUW's Annual General Meeting of Members at 11 am EDT, including reports of the organization's activities and election of new Board members and members of the Nominating Committee. A registration is required to attend the Annual Gathering but not the Annual Meeting. Members received the notice of the Annual Meeting and other important information 20 days in advance. If you are not a member and interested in attending only the Annual Meeting but not the Gathering, please send an email to
For the Annual Gathering, we accept donations in support of the organization ($50 or an amount of your own choosing). The first 25 registrants at the "Early Bird" rate of $25 will receive an embroidered bookmark from UNOSZ women in Transylvania (the National Unitarian Women's Association of Romania)! We still have a few bookmarks left!
Let’s bring diverse voices to the table to unite our voices and find pathways to accelerate gender equality! See you there!
