Women's groups are the driving force behind the congregational activities in most Unitarian congregations in Transylvania. The organizational and operational life of UNOSZ has returned to normal after the pandemic and local women's groups have resumed their activities that span the church year. Women's work comprises different activities, such as celebrating Mardi Gras in February. Some groups organize costume parties, and they bake the traditional pánkó (doughnuts) or cook corn. Other activities during the year include Women's World Prayer Day in March, International Women's Day, and Easter activities, such as egg painting, as well as Mother's Day celebrations in May.

During the winter months, many of the local organizations meet weekly and host talks featuring guest speakers on various topics, including healthcare, alternative medicine, gastronomy, literature, and history. Potlucks, community lunches, cooking for the community, and one-day trips, as well as singing in the choir, are also very popular activities among women.

Local women's groups are also very active throughout the summer. They volunteer at children's camps in their congregations. In many cases, they also carry out the cleaning and maintenance of the church building and community halls. The Advent season brings so much joy. Local women have various craft activities, such as making candles, Advent calendars and wreaths, and Christmas presents for children. They bake the traditional Hungarian pastry, walnut and poppy seed rolls.

Annual Conference in August

The most notable event of this year was the Annual Conference held on August 30, 2025, hosted this year by Székelyszentmihály, with 270 participants representing 66 women's associations. The day started with the procession of the flags and the passing on of the UNOSZ tablecloth, woven together from 104 small squares. Rev. Mónika Sipos, hospital chaplain, gave the sermon, and Rev. Ágnes Péterfi presented her congregation's church building project entitled "Built on Faith." A tiny congregation of only 60 members set out to buy a property and renovate a barn to turn it into a sanctuary. The project garnered widespread attention and received support from many. The Annual Meeting concluded with singing the UU hymn "Come sing a song with me."

For UNOSZ this was a fruitful year enriched by the various events and shared moments that lifted our hearts and souls.
