2025 November Member Connection Call
2025 November Member Connection Call

In this year of strategic reorganization, positioning ICUUW for even greater growth and impact, the Membership Engagement Team (previously known as the Membership Committee) has been focusing a lot of energy on creating warm and inspiring ways to invite our current and potential members into a deeper understanding of who we are as an organization and as individuals.

We honor the path each of our members has taken to bring them to the ICUUW and seek ways to help each person find a way to be involved that best fits their personal interests, skills or desires. We reach out to current members and those interested in learning more about ICUUW, welcoming them with open arms and eager to learn from and to inspire each other to work together to create a world that is more equitable, just and empowering for women and girls in all the world.

This month [November 2025], we held a Member Connection Gathering on Zoom that was designed to bring us closer through sharing our personal stories of what brought us to the ICUUW and why we choose to stay involved with this global community. From stories of middle of the night phone calls, Tuesday gatherings during the pandemic that kept loneliness at bay, inspiration borne of the personal connections made during Convocations, to the sense of international UU connection that has long felt like family, many heartfelt stories were shared. Tales of the good our projects have brought about in the lives of women and girls we’ve sought to help were encouraging…so often it’s hard to understand the impact we have when working at great distances with people we will probably never meet in person. Our organization does good work; our history and roots are holding us strong so we can engage with lots of confidence in our future works.

A recording of the call will be posted on our ICUUW YouTube channel for all to see. Check it out! At the conclusion of the call, we received feedback that our efforts to create a warm environment where those personal stories could flow and deepen our sense of community had been successful. We look forward to more connection calls in the future!
