We are thrilled to announce that the Board of Directors has selected Pooja Banerjee as the next Executive Director of ICUU Women.
Pooja is committed to providing leadership and support that will increase the global impact of our work. She brings excellent communication and relationship-building skills, experience in women’s issues, and an inspiring passion for gender equity. She also brings experience in fundraising and will work with us to develop new strategies to increase institutional and individual giving.
We believe Pooja is the right leader to guide ICUUW into its next chapter. She has been interested in women’s and girls’ issues throughout her professional life. She has worked for Plan International India, Right To Play in New York, and UN Women – the organization within the United Nations delivering programs, policies, and standards that uphold women’s human rights and ensure that every woman and girl can live up to her full potential.
Pooja will work closely with the Board and spend the first few weeks getting to know ICUUW. Please help us welcome her to our organization and allow her some time to get grounded in our work. Pooja can be reached at
We are a member-driven volunteer organization where almost everything we do is done by volunteers. Over the last year, our Transition Team and Search Task Force worked hard to get us ready for our next chapter. The Board extends our heartfelt gratitude to Geri Kennedy, Karen Kortsch, Genia Peterson and Zsófia Sztranyiczki for the work that was done during the past year and during the recruiting and selection process for our new Executive Director. Thank you to Karen for being our Interim Executive Director this past year, and thank you to Zsófi for being our Executive Director for the last dozen years.
Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to making the world a better place for all women and girls.
