11 February 2022

A well-known symbol of UNOSZ, the Unitarian Women’s Association of Romania, is the “wandering tablecloth.” As the name indicates, the tablecloth “wanders” from one place to the next: from the site of the UNOSZ annual meeting and conference one year to the location of the following year’s event. The tablecloth is composed of embroidered triangles sewn together, made by and representing each local women’s association. Today, the tablecloth contains approximately 120 triangles.

Details
By ICUUW Staff
18 June 2021

In-Country Partner

The comprehensive leadership development training in Bolivia rose out of ICUUW's 2015 Gathering. The Bolivian organizing team was made up of Unitarians and liberal religious women from La Paz (the Bolivian capital) and surroundings. Project leader Calixta Choque attended ICUUW’s Gathering in Bolivia in 2015.

Leadership Development (2019-2021)

A pilot leadership training program in Bolivia – identified as a key need at ICUUW's 2015 Gathering – was implemented in 2019 thanks to the generous support of people who contributed on Faithify. The campaign raised approximately $2,500 to enable marginalized Bolivian women in District 7 of Viacha (near La Paz) to become a powerful force for change in their families and communities by building income-generating and leadership skills as well as developing capacities for long-term success.
